ITINERARY

Day 1 Puerto Iguassu – meeting point Raices Argentinas

14.00 hrs meeting with Yacutinga Lodge staff.

14.30 hrs. The expedition to the Interior Atlantic Forest starts. Transfer towards Yacutinga Lodge by paved road during 2 hours and change of vehicle to a 4 x 4 truck for t the last portion on dirt road to the Lodge .

Welcome reception and room- distribution. Time to get to know the surroundings of this singular place.

18.30 hrs. Meeting at the fireplace and detailed briefing about the next days services. Introduction to the Conservation of this Rainforest. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Yacutinga Lodge.

This will be a very introductive and intense day which will initiate us with the interpretation of the jungle environment. We will start early in the morning exploring the area of the higher forest by walking on some of the trails the Yacutinga Nature Reserve offer , which are especially designed considering variability of environment and landscape. You will be accompanied by naturalist guides and their Guarani companion.

Lunch at the Lodge.

Floating or kayakng the San Francisco side-river and part of the upper Iguassu River will be the activity for the afternoon. While navigation these tranquil waters of the Gallery Forest you will be starting to identify flora , fauna and interpreting the ecology of this environment.

Return to the Lodge at dawn. Dinner.

Optional nocturnal walk to sharpen our senses and discover peculiarities and curiosities of this forest. Owling is also possible.

Overnight.

Day 3 Yacutinga Lodge.

Getting to know the medicinal properties and the traditional use of some of the native plants present at Yacutinga Reserve . This day we will explore the properties of roots,leaves & spraus.

Return to the Lodge for lunch.

Use and elaboration of traditional medicines using roots, leaves & spraus will be the afternoon activity.Our native guides will explain which of the plants they use in their culture while and you will assist in preparing the medication.

Dinner at the Lodge. Overnight.

Day 4 Yacutinga Lodge.

This day is devoted to learn about seeds, fruits & flower properties.

Return to the Lodge for lunch.

Use and elaboration of traditional medicines using fuits,flowers and seeds will be the afternoon activity.Our native guides will explain how they use in their culture this type of natural medicines and you will assist in preparing the medication.

Dinner at the Lodge. Overnight.

Day 5: Return to Puerto Iguassu / Raices Argentinas.

Morning at leisure to walk the Orquid Trails ( self-guided) , or purchase a handicraft from the Guarani produced directly by them at the Kagui Pora community.

9.00 hrs. Check- Out.

10.00 hrs. Departure to Puerto Iguassu, estimated arrival at’13.00 hrs.
